Shiv chased after Aito, guessing happily at him when her mother looked baffled - Shiv was oblivious to the fact that Liz was more concerned over the talking cat than the appearance of her friend. Shiv, honey.. Why's Cat talking?

Why no talk me, Aunty Liz? he pouted, unhappy at being effectively ignored. He was used to being doted upon.

Liz couldn't help but laugh at Cat's comment, and when she noticed the pout on Aito's face, she went and picked him up, squeezing him tightly I'm sorry, Aito, I was thinking about Cat she responded, with a big cheery smile on her face.

Shiv was immediately jealous of the lack of attention she was receiving, but Cat went over and tickled her with his tail before Shiv could let out of a cry for attention.

What were you thinking about Cat? he asked curiously.

Cats don't normally talk, chuckled Liz, wondering if the two of them would now grow up with abnormally high expectations of cats.

Cat's a special cat, he shrugged. That was like saying that most baby boys didn't teleport all over the place.

Yup, agreed Liz. She put Aito back down when Cat started repeating the word food. She couldn't say she was exactly used to the idea, as she put more food out for Cat. Shiv appeared to have grown bored by the tickling, but having Aito back cheered her up, and she immediately crawled off, expecting him to follow

Where? he asked her, intending to just teleport there instead of crawling or toddling along.

Everywhere! giggled Shiv, her word in Japanese.

Liz answered Hello?

Hey Liz, Sinead smiled, showing in her tone. We're throwing a Christmas party next weekend, want to come? Ask your entire family!!

Liz chuckled at how she had just leaped straight into it Sure, I'll definitely go - I'll check with everyone else.. Is it a kids as well thing, or do I need a babysitter?

Bring Shiv along, she nodded. I couldn't even bear considering ditching the twins on a babysitter.

Not only does it talk, it's multi-lingual, so Aito can understand, too, chuckled Liz. And I've got a feeling if Cat doesn't sssh about wanting food, I might develop a phobia

Then you might need to worry about another talking cat, she laughed. It really was amazing how easily they could now make light of this. But then, she couldn't really hold the girl responsible, or fear her baby daughter.

Don't worry, I'm sure the new cat could help Cat come up with some more arguments as to why I shouldn't cheap out on cat food

How would you like eating dry food?! Tinned is so much better, and the talking cat on the television recommends Iams and I really don't see why I can't at least follow the advice of my race

Overhearing Cat through the phone, Sinead just burst into laughter.

That's just surreal, she commented. Think Shiv made him like that on purpose?

I have no idea, but she sure is stubborn! said Liz, shouting the last part so that Cat would hear, who immediately pretending to be hurt by her words.

Think she did, then, she laughed. Gotta go, Liz, bye.

"See you next week," replied Liz, hanging up. She sent a quick text to her brothers and sisters informing them of the party before turning to trying to find shiv and aito.
