She walked into the house, and although Alysson wasn't there, Dawn welcomed her and she headed to where she knew the first of the books was kept. She browsed through it. However, to her frustration, she couldn't find anything. She was about to go look for the second when she was distracted by her friend's entrance.
What are you looking for? Alysson asked curiously.
Mystery Guy turned up again, she replied, trying to scowl at it but not quite succeeding. Alysson laughed at that. I'm thinking that I'll need a spell to get him to actually answer any of my questions...
Still doing that mystery act then?

Doesn't sound that mysterious to me, Billie commented. Alysson laughed at that. She resisted the temptation to explain that "her own" had meant her own guy to obsess over, not her own mystery.

Nah, he's in senior year. I just don't know if he's been held back a bit cause his family move around all the time. But he's being home schooled, anyway.

(I always assumed that they'd moved around through different towns in different generations
