Neither of them said anything of this new - or renewed - engagement to the rest of their team. Not for months. She'd been wearing the ring since she'd gotten back with Sean, and a decade before, so there was nothing really to notice.

She wasn't sure why she was hesitating over announcing it. The same old doubts, she supposed, and the thought that maybe the others would have sense and would agree with those. Sean, she suspected, was following her lead.
In the end, she spoke when they were waiting around at their base after finishing off a quite regular mission. Yet another spurious decision. The words almost escaped her.

George smiles confidently and turns his head slightly. His eyes focused completely on the strand of hair. After several seconds his smile vanishes, replaced by an expression of shock and disbelief.
"It...it dissapeared. The trail, it's gone."
George starts to panic, hyperventilating. Almost like he has lost one of his senses, his gaze becomes disoriented.
"It's gone..." George repeats.
Neil quickly runs up to George and puts his arm comfortingly around his shoulder. Neil forces George to look into his eyes, calming him down.
"It's okay, we will find him another way."
George meets Neil's gaze, calmer now.
"It's just...it has never happened before."

Like we said before, it was probably teleportation, or something similar, Tyler assured him. And that can't be traced. We all know that.
Since there was no trail to follow, he suggested that they head for the closest of the 2 addresses on the pair of cards they'd found earlier. They could also send the hair George had found to HQ, for analysis in their labs. Possibly the DNA could be on record.

Liam offered to head to the other address. Tyler declined the idea though. He didn't want one of them to be separated from the others without backup, when they knew their opponent had abilities but didn't know the exact offensive capabilities.

George entered his car and drove away and Neil entered the one where Tyler was driving. He gave him one of the usual, sly remarks about his driving and soon they had arrived at the adress.
Neil got out of the car, checked his weapon and cautiously kept his eyes and ears alert while they approached an elegant, spacious mansion. Sometimes rich neighbourhoods could be more dangerous then any run-down slum.

As they'd entered the area, Tyler had been surprised at how rich it was. He hadn't expected this. Even though he'd lived in the city since he'd began his job, he still didn't know it well enough to know what every different address was like.
He parked the car and stepped out, following Neil. He too checked his weapon. His eyes were scanning the building carefully, looking for any sign of movement or any clue, and he'd already activated his dermal forcefield.

Suddenly, a well-dressed man enters from another room. He moves graciously and is drinking what looks like brandy even though it's just early afternoon.
Calmly he looks around the room.
"I'm sorry, can I help you?" the man asks.
Neil who had expected to be faced with hostility like he had all day was slightly taken aback by his rather friendly tone. Neil adjusts his stand to look friendlier, or at least less intruding, while still being able to quickly react to any potential danger that might lurk around.

"Sure. What would you like to know? Oh, how rude of me. Come in, come in."
The man gestures to a fancry room next to the entrance which seems to be a living room.

Tyler began the questioning. He asked if the man knew anything of the suspect whose home they'd searched earlier, naming that individual. He watched the man carefully to see his reaction to the question.

The man answers that he do not know anything. His reaction doesn't give away any of the usual clues of someone lying. Either he is telling the truth or an expert liar.
Neil gives Tyler a questioning look, raising his eyebrows slightly and tilting his head with an expression saying: "Do you want me to step in?"

Tyler gave a subtle nod. He'd almost anticipated that Neil would need to use his ability and force information out of the man. The address being found in the lead suspect's possession was enough for a warrant for the ability use.

"You want to tell us the truth. Tell us what you know."
Eagerly the man starts speaking. "I don't know, this isn't even my home. I was doing what I was told."
"From who?" Neil asks.
"The ones I work for. I never meet them, everything is done electronically. I do what they say and they transfer money from an off shore account."
"We will need all your contact history with your employers."
"Of course, of course!" The man nods, still eager to please.
Neil turns to Tyler. "Anything else we need to know?"

Tyler asked the employers' names. The man had spoken in plurals, but they currently only had one suspect's identity. He also asked what the orders he'd been paid for completing had been, and what it had to do with this house.

The man answers. "They never gave me their real names, only aliases."
The man starts listing a few names, one of them correlating with the one on the buisness cards. before continuing asking Tyler's other questions.
"It was just simple tasks. Like leaving and picking up packages and messages at different meeting spots in town or sometimes send e-mails about ordinary things like social gatherings and the like. Some words seemed out of place in them, but I just thought there was no point in complaining, the money was good. Some tasks were a little peculiar though, like to start up conversations with specific individuals who I didn't really know, at specific times. And then this of course. They just told me to be here and act like I lived here if someone showed up and then minutes after I had settled in, you guys showed up."

Still, he asked what the man knew of the senator in question, again signalling to Neil that he should force an honest answer.
(If he knows something about the Senator, e.g. he's missing or the plan involved him, they'll bring him in for further questioning. If he doesn't then he's free. Up to you)

Dissapointed, but no surprised, Neil stops his questioning, just telling him they will need all contact with the supervisors and him. Maybe someone back at HQ can use the information to find something useful.

Soon afterwards they left the building, taking the little information they'd gotten with him. They left that man behind. Another team would be arriving that afternoon to search the place, in case there was more information or clues left behind that weren't known about by the man they'd questioned.

Tyler drove off. With his usual racing speed, it wasn't long before they reached the second address, just five or ten minutes. He got up and rang the doorbell, but this time they received no answer.
