Tyler hesitated. His instincts told him that they should enter and search, but as Neil had correctly thought, they didn't have the warrant for that. A small shockwave had formed in his palm, ready to break down the door. He dismissed it.

He drove back to HQ. Once they arrived, he headed up to report what little they had found, his frustration at what he felt was a mostly failed mission showing. He passed Liam on the way. Liam explained that his own mission had been as weak.

George entered the group and said he had left the DNA results back at the lab and that now the only thing that they could do was wait.

Liam asked what success they'd had, and was visibly disappointed when he received the answer. They'd had missions go awry before. He knew that. It was part of the job, in a way. But this one gave him a weird feeling, it reminded him of waiting to here from his and Naomi's former team leader, the day before the day he'd gotten captured.

Still reporting? he guessed. He wondered where Naomi was, too, but didn't mention it. She'd been absent for this entire case. He wondered suddenly if she was involved in the ongoing attempts to free Michael Samson. But in that scenario, why wouldn't he be too?

Neil nodded. "Probably." Neil started to imagining how Tyler's reports would look like, since he had never been in there with him. His mind started painting a glorified picture of a dramatic scene where he's offered scotch, for some reason, he doesn't even think Tyler like scotch, and they all talk like mobsters in that room for some reason. It's almost seems taken out of a "Godfather" sequel.
George waves his hand in front of Neil's face, snapping him out of his fantasy.
"Heeellooo? Penny for your thoughts?"
Neil flinches as he comes back to the real world. He quickly regains his focus.
"You know nobody says that anymore, right. You are getting old, man."
Neil knows that comment always drives him mad.
George starts to number different reasons why he's NOT old as Neil pretends to listen.

Neil notices Tyler's expression and immediately gets worried, but hides it well. He carefully watches the others, no one paying any attention to Tyler.
Neil ightly touches Tyler's arm, quick like it could be an accident, but hopefully with a comforting feeling attached to it. Neil wished he could do more, but he contains his worry, while carefully watching Tyler to see if he understood his gesture.

They're looking into it. Precogs, information sensors, that sort of stuff mainly. They've already looked using non-ability means but they didn't get anything there.

Tyler warned them that it'd likely be a while, at which Liam nodded. They'd both had to wait out like this before, in older cases. The waiting was irritable. The group began making small talk as they sat there, and Liam offered to grab everyone coffees.

Neil and George both gratefully takes up on Liam's offer while making the small talk. It is that kind off discussions when you don't really have anything decent to say so the stuff you say is not far from: "Nice weather we're having"

Neil is quickly up on his feet and puts away his coffee. He is already in "active mode" when George starts reacting.
Neil leans in and teases. "Getting a little slow there, grandpa?"
George grins, up for a challenge. "Easy there tiger. Are you sure even qualified to be here? You know the postguys are supposed to be four floors down, right?"
Neil is heading towards the elevator with George and the others not far behind. "I have already died and come back to life once. I would say that qualifies me plenty."
Neil enters the elevator as he glances at Liam. Did he know about his resurrection? Exactly how much did his CIA file reveal about him?

In a way, he was glad that the topic had been brought up since it gave him something to talk to Liam about. Ever since he and Naomi had joined their crew, Neil had felt like he had unconciously seen them as a separate unit. Not really part of their team even though they were, and he didn't like it.

Neil looked over at Tyler. He thought of how horrible the experience must have been for him. Sure, he died, but Tyler was the one who actually had to face that. They hadn't talked about it since that case was put to rest.

I guess we're lucky to have Rosana, in those circumstances, Liam commented in a quiet voice. She'd only joined them just over 2 years ago.

Neil nodded, suddenly hit by the old memories and reminded of the realness of the all. What if he hadn't been resurrected? It would all have been over. The illogical part of him screams at him to drag Tyler and elope to a warm, exotic country somewhere and just run away from all of this, but the bigger, more logical part shuts it up.
