Really, I didn't know why I was having this debate with myself. I already knew what my decision would be - I knew I wouldn't be able to let go of this. I never could. And I was telling myself that maybe it was for the best, given that possibly I'd never find this brother of mine, or he'd just turn around, slam the door in my face or call me crazy, if I ever did.

Once I'd come to the conclusion that I wasn't leaving him - that I'd realised I probably couldn't - I turned my thoughts to what we'd do next. I didn't have a clue, really. I had no home anymore, nowhere and no one to turn to. And even though I was certain he'd have someone somewhere, how would either of us ever know? He was watching me intently as I thought this all through, and his expression gave me the disquieting feeling that he knew exactly what I was thinking.

Seconds after my thoughts had drifted into wondering if he could hear them, or if he was just somehow acting like he could right now, everything vanished. Once I'd managed to reorientate myself, I realised we'd arrived somewhere completely different.

Wha.... what happened? I asked shakily, though his face made it clear that he had no more clue than I did. We'd just vanished. With an effort, I took control of myself, and looked around trying to make sense of it. We'd arrived in some apartment, but I didn't have a clue where that was. It looked like only one person lived here, a guy I'd guess. I just hoped the owner wouldn't appear any time soon and ask for some explanation.

Everyone else seemed frozen, but Danny smiled, broadly, going over and hugging his best friend again Congrats, Georgie. Someone has to be stupid enough to love you, huh? Why not your child?
George smiled, surveying the expressions of his friend - Boston was laughing, more at him than with him, Misha was next in line to hug him, the picture of happiness, Gracie was giggling, bouncing up and down and demanding that if it was a girl, it was to be called 'Grace'. Tara's was the last face he looked at, and the expression on that one, was.. so different. It wasn't happy, but it wasn't sad - it was shock. Pure shock. Danny moved out of the way of the rest of his friends, going to talk to the near silent Tara

I searched around a little - yes, I'm that nosy - and tried to work out how we were here. We'd been in that container seconds ago.... and then it had just vanished, and this apartment had replaced it. Wherever this was.

Did it bring anything back? I asked after a while, hoping. Maybe this ability of ours could help him regain his memories. But he shook his head.
Not really..... I know some things now, but they're not my memories..... does that make any sense?
