She forced that thought away too, and focused on finding the others. Soon, they were together again.

Do you think we've done enough yet? she asked anxiously, still glancing around and expecting some alarm to be raised at every second.

Not yet, James replied. There has to be more than we can do.

She nodded nervously, still glancing around and searching for the first signs of danger. Logically, she knew they'd be able to escape with only a second's warning. But somehow that was little comfort.

What are you doing?! he asked, as she tripped on the bits of sheet around her, and feel to the floor. He moved quickly, now, concern for her immediate and intense, as he pulled her back to her feet, steadied her, and asked if she was alright.

They were searching through the office they were currently in, searching for some leads or clues of what more they could do to foil the Company. They'd soon learned that the place was so vast that small random damage would barely inconvenience it. So they needed something more. In the middle of searching, they raised their heads, hearing that long-awaited alarm raised. Elan hastily electrocuted it, wishing she'd brought Danny with her so that he could tell the thing to shut up. The damage was already done.

I'm trying to get home!! she said, insistantly, trying to ignore him, as she wrapped the sheet back around herself, and waddled towards the bathroom.

George opened his mouth to reply, with some smart-ass comment, but as he thought, he realised this wasn't the old days - they weren't dating now, they weren't in love. He had just lost his child, and she.. she was in a relationship. Why can't you..? he asked, gently, now, his voice barely audible.

Why can't I what?! she hissed, angrily. She had reached the bathroom now, and was gathering her clothes from the floor, the guilt and self-hatred eventually reaching her - she was going out with Sean, she was in love with Sean.

Why can't I... she began, her voice breaking off, unable to finish that sentence - why couldn't she stay? A thousand reasons, ten thousands reasons, but she couldn't verbalise any of them, because she knew.. she knew if she questioned them remotely, they would all crumble.

Turning quickly, she tried not to let the tears fall, until she was in his bathroom, locking the door behind her. She slid to the floor, quickly, wondering if she could bury herself in the pile of clothes.

I too heard the sound of the alarms and panicked. I knew I had to get to the room, full of information and files, to discover the secrets that lurked in the Company. There was a thunder of sound, I knew people were coming, aprroaching, so I ran, ran as fast as I could.

What's going on in there? Nathan asked lowly, an uncharacteristic hint of nervousness showing in his voice.

I don't know, I answered. None of the doors or walls tell, I've already tried. But we can't just wait out here.

I was scaredm scared of being found, then what? I had my abilities and they helped, but I'm sure they would of have had stronger people here, much stronger.

They both agreed with me, and I moved forwards to the door we'd selected: a small half-hidden one at the back, which I could tell wasn't often used. I reached to it, giving myself the strength to tear it open, then stopped at the sound of Nathan's muffled laughter.

What is it? I snapped.

Nothing.... I didn't mean any offence. It's just that Peter could have it open much more easily.

Peter looked at him questioningly, but he explained that he knew his brother could move things with his mind, that it was an ability he'd absorbed. We stood back and waited.

Almost as soon as I'd slowed down, the sirens of the alarms struck me, making me almost anxious. I glanced rapidly in all directions, wondering what was going on. The passages we'd passed through didn't have any relative history either. Not of today, or of 4 months ago. I was beginning to wonder if there was any point in coming here.

Don't think like that, Peter told me, having again caught the trail of my thoughts. Strange how I was getting used to that, already. There has to be something here.

I nodded, not asking where that conviction came from, knowing that he had to have it. I continued to search, but still gained no results. Not that there would be any in the passages, really. I began searching for where the offices would be, hoping there'd be the remnant of the order somewhere in one of them.
