World 9 - Mythical Crossover

Harotic was wandering around the country, he had been doing it for awhile now, since there was no worldwide threat or massive evil gathering, he stopped and layed eyes on a small town, he knew that it was Camelot, he knew he wouldn't be able to enter the town.

Aira donned her cape and picked up her bag of supplies. It was getting late, she hoped that the guards hadn't closed the gates yet. She looked round the small, pitiful room in now stood in. A small hard bed was set in the corner, flea infested mattress included. A small modest stove sat in the corner with a burnt chicken inside it, cooking was never her strong point. A table stood in the centre with nothing on it but a cup with lilies drooping out over the side of it. Aira smiled, she would never see this place again.

She opened the door and walked confidently out, clutching the bag containing all of her possessions. The night was further on than she'd hoped. She walked quickly to Camelot's gates, hoping to get out without any problem.

(Nice and Camelot's a massive city with a citadel )

Harotic went to a well just outside the gates, leaning heavily on his staff to fool any watching person

He hopes faded as she approached the night guards who were looking at her strangely. They suspected her of something. Aira placed a deeply worried expression on her face and walked towards her only escape route.

Who goes there? shouted one of the guards, eyeing her up and down.
Please....please...please can I just hurry though? she sobbed, Please I've just got word my brother is injured mortally...they don't think he'll make it through the night....he's all I've got left...
Well then in tho- the guard said, put off by her tears.
Please, please he's just a little boy...I'm came here to earn some money for medicine for him ...but...but I seemed to be too la-la-late. Aira put on a burst of tears and howled in her pretend grief.
Here, take this and go! He said handing, her enough money for medicine for an entire village, Hurry pon to your brother! I know what's it's like to lose someone close to you and someone as young as you should never experience such a thing. Go! As fast as you can, I bet he'll be just fine, the guard comforted, Oh actually, wait here for a moment. He called a servant to him and he hurried away. Soon the servant was back with a horse, fully tacked and laden with supplies. Take this and go! You never have to bring him back, he's yours now! So go as fast as you can! Aira was stunned, she never thought her plan could work out this well, Th-th-thank you she stammered. She swung up onto the stallion with help from the guard and cantered away, a bemused look plastered on her face.

Harotic looked over at what was happening

She sighed, looking out further, seeing the forests and the rivers and mountains, all covered in a thick blanket of snow. As always. Oherin was a country in almost perpetual winter, she'd learned. The tiny amount she really did know about it. She looked further, seeing in the far distance The Ridge, the boundary between Oherin and the rest of the world. Her other homeland was somewhere over there. Her father. The rest of her family. The life she'd known until she'd turned 14.

Aira rode out into the night, exhilarated at what just happened. She closed her eyes and raised her face to the stars. Tonight was a glorious night. Suddenly, Aira felt herself thrown forward. She catapulted off the horse and lay face down in mud. Her luck couldn't last forever. She gingerly rose from the muck and looked down at herself, her cape was completely ruined but thankfully her dress underneath seemed clean, it must have been protected by her cape. She looked around to see what exactly had happened. She saw an old man standing in front her, clutching a wizards staff. He appeared lame as he leant on it heavily. Aira understood, she must have been riding straight towards this man when she was riding so her horse through her off to save him.

Aira, always wary of strangers, especially those with magic , ignored him and went to catch her horse. She calmed him with a stroke on his mane and got back onto and started readjusting the stirrups.

Dier!! she exclaimed, her voice going even higher in joy. How was the Outside? Where did you go this time? What did you see?

He laughed slightly, hugging her back once he'd climbed off of his horse's back.

Wait a second, little sister. I was travelling north, trying to find the Elementae.

Did you find them?she asked, jealously. Few had seen those creatures. Their location wasn't even known to non-Elementae anymore, after their previous city had been destroyed in the last war.

Harotic went towards the woman Are you alright?

Aira looked up, Fine. You shouldn't walk round with such an obvious magical object, not so close to Camelot. Bad things happen to anybody even associated with magic.

Aira smiled, We all think that of things we haven't experienced. I should know. You going somewhere particular?

Aira looked ahead of her, I think this is east, isn't it? So east I suppose.

Harotic looked east You will have to be careful on the journey, i myself have had to fight of various bandits and aggressive creatures

Aira smiled, I can take care of myself. I think you should worry more about yourself, are you OK? You look...weary.

Again he chuckled, smiling at her youthful excitement.

Not exactly. None in person. However, I found some signs.

Signs? Do you think you might find some of them, next time?

It's possible, he concided. Almost probable.

Can I come with you?

His smile fell, a frown replacing it.

Well that's...good. Aira felt awkward, she wasn't very good at small talk.

You know that you can't leave, Nam, he reminded her gently, knowing exactly how much she hated that limitation. He'd been exactly the same, decades ago when he'd been in her position.

But it isn't fair.... I'm strong! I can look after myself, you know that! They all do!

You were fortunate, once, he corrected. You can't always rely on that.

Why, though? How is it so dangerous, out there?

Harotic smiled and stepped out of the way of the horse I do not wish to keep you, go to wherever you must go
