Daniel stood up. I'm going to go and see the camp. He fished in his pocket, and through some dollar bills onto the table's waxy surface, then went out the door. Suddenly he thought of something, and went back in.

What if someone is waiting at the camp?

I don't particularly. He said it carelessly, but really he wanted to go and survey the damage. To find out what had happened. To see if anyone was alive. But I want to find out why we can do these things, and if we are going to do that, starting with as much information as possible will be best. Do you want to come, or am I going alone?
