Re: School RP Thread
Without waiting to thank Kylian for his answer, Daniel scooped Sky up and raced with her back to the transport. He barked out a request - more of an order - to be taken to the nearest healer or hospital. Throughout, Sky was stirring slightly, muttering in pain with the headwound as she tried in vain to push herself to heal it. That never worked.

Once they arrived, all Daniel could do was wait, the minutes turning into hours and becoming torturous. No one had given him any updates on Sky's condition. They'd ushered him out of the room the second he'd tried to enter, so he was waiting in the corridor outside. True, his bond was silent, but he couldn't take any reassurance from that - for all he knew, it'd remain silent until the very second she died.

Re: School RP Thread
It was hours before anyone exited the room and spoke with him. They'd felt like entire lifetimes. Thankfully, though, it was good news - he was told that they'd managed to save Sky, that she was resting. He was allowed in to see her, reluctantly he suspected, with several stern warnings that she wasn't to be aggreviated or disturbed.

Re: School RP Thread
How do you feel? he asked gently, and she grimaced.
Like I got my skull split open, she commented dryly. She gestured at the bandaging which had been left on the remnants of the wound. Her tone changed though as she registered his emotions.
You're worried about her, aren't you? she asked. Her voice was now as soft and gentle as his had been when he'd entered. Dani.

We're all worried about her, he replied. The way she vanished like that... after agreeing to let us help her....
Sky smiled thinly. That hadn't been how she'd meant her comment. He was more worried than the rest of them, and she could tell, and she knew why.

Mrs P Sylar wrote:She knew it was stupid, but she was tired, she was in pain and she was pissed. Finding logic at this moment just didn't seem possible. A kick collided with Pravaos, and she smiled weakly. He growled, his rage matching hers, forcing her leg backwards with an ominous crutch. Dani yelped in pain. Maybe this would be more sensible if she knew how to fight.
She collected the metal from the outlying wall telekinetically, throwing it once again at Pravaos. He had no difficulty avoiding it. There was a clear winner in this fight. Pravaos allowed a few seconds of distraction to focus on the metal, pulling it from his shoulder and when he looked back up, Dani was running.
Running. She literally felt nothing but self-hatred for that. She was running, cowering, she was pathetic. She felt the anger approaching as he did, and finally logic kicked in, her brain started working. Guilt, remorse, sorrow. Better emotions, emotions easier to stop. Dani felt what little energy she had draining away but Pravaos stopped dead in his track, trying to compute these feels.
Dani took the break to try and pull herself back together again, rubbing her sore leg, wiping the blood off her arm and one of the stupidest things she could think to do at this time; tying her hair back. Gripping the sword tightly in her palm, she started to run away, slowly, nearly limping.
She felt the exhaustion, she knew her power was working - so why was Pravaos chasing her again? Guilt. He was meant to stop, to cry, to empathise, maybe get her some crutches. Her knuckles began to turn white under the red, unable to let go of the sword, incapable of surrendering just yet. A jolt of pain shot to her forehead and she nearly collapsed. Continually putting one foot in front of the other seemed so futile.
Pravaos seemed hungry in his chase, the speed picking up but also - excitement. He was taking his time, darting sideways, and jolting about. Soon he saw her slow even further and malice washed over his disgusting face. Ready to die?
Dani managed a chuckle. You've gotta know I've been ready for a while. All of this suicide-y mission thing.
You lie. You believed in victory. You saw a future for yourself, for that brother, for your friends. Death becomes all of you. Some sooner than others, he hissed.
Dani didn't reply. If I'm so desperate to die, will you please just kill me? Anymore of this psychobabble is gonna kill me.

Re: School RP Thread
Dani waited. She wasn't sure what she was waiting for; well, more than likely it was death that was going to find her before anything else. But she waited. A moment of silence, complete darkness behind her eyelids, capable of pretending she was somewhere far away. Somewhere without impending doom and unbearable agony. Was there any point in getting back up? she wondered.
Her father was dead, Greg was dead, Sky was close. There a lot of blood on her hands and it looked like there was going to be more. Was it really worth it? Getting back up, trying, failing? Or even if she by some miracle won, she'd have to grieve her brother, her friend, she'd be alone. But no.. Of course it was worth it. Of course she should try, of course she should fight. She had to, she always had to.
Even without her brother and her friends, she wasn't some pathetic coward and she wasn't going to lie here and let herself die, she was going to fight. Pushing herself up from the ground, she noticed a change in the Ainsprid; surprise, maybe? Had he thought she had given up? A wince of pain as she reached for the sword, finding strength as it flew into her grip.
She spun it in her hand with surprising grace since the only experience she had in sword fighting was with the cardboard from finished wrapping paper tubes. She weighed it, slowly, unsurprisingly heavy in her hand. Then again she was pretty sure a feather would feel heavy right now. One step forward, she swung the sword out and caught the Ainsprid's shoulder. He stepped backwards, shocked too, seconds too late.
Dani pranced to the side when a retaliatory punch came flying her way but she missed the second one and was slightly winded from the sheer force hitting her stomach. Another swing, a close miss with his right arm. But Dani didn't wait for a response, she took the edge in her stride and swung again, causing Pravaos to have to retreat a few steps further; once more and once more. Getting close to the wall, Dani swung the sword, only just scratching a line of green blood from his stomach.
She stepped backwards, suddenly, knowing what was likely to happen if she came into contact with the blood. Pravaos didn't hesitate, pushing off the wall and changing. Dani ducked and lifted up the metal sword, swinging it mentally in the air. Using his forearm as a block the sword came across a powerful block and clattered to the floor. Anger edged forwards, feeling yet more pain biting through her barrier as she crouched down to pick it up.
She heard the heavy footsteps before she saw that he was charging towards her at full speed. Sheer luck saved her, since all she had to do to avoid him was roll sideways and despite the awkward landing, she was alive. Pravaos didn't stop in time, crashing into the wall around the courtyard. Momentarily covered in rumble and brick, Dani took advantage of the moment, gripping the sword in both hands and rushing forwards. Pravaos caught her by the throat and sent her flying backwards with a ominous bone-crunch as she collided with the ground and the wall, but the sword remained in her grip. He stepped out of the rubble and began slowly approaching her.
Noises broke out around them - it was only now that it occurred to either of them that others had been hurt, the collapsing wall had triggered some of the tiles from the ceiling to break down. Dani barely spared a thought to the other students that would be injured by the screams of one young boy distracted Pravaos enough. Wriggling her hand free, Dani released the sword and quick as a flash, it darted through the air and into Pravaos' heart.
A disgusting squelching sound, a vast amount of green blood, an incredibly loud thud and absolute nothingness.

Re: School RP Thread
Slowly Fia walked into the school grounds, glancing around. Perry hadn't come to visit her today. True, it hadn't been a planned meeting, but it wasn't like him..... she was wondering if something was wrong, something bothering him or some illness. She didn't think he'd given up on her. He was obviously too stubborn for that.
She got closer and closer to the buildings, until suddenly her ears caught the sounds of fighting, crashing. Panic filled her. She was running before she even knew it. She didn't know what she feared, exactly, but she still ran anyway.

Re: School RP Thread
In little time, she'd reached the ruins where a large portion of the building had fallen away. The fighting had stopped by now, but she barely noticed that. She'd barely thought of the possibility that it hadn't, either; hadn't thought of the possible risk. She just had this terrible feeling..... she knew she was right, she recognised the body long before she was close enough to really see him.

Re: School RP Thread
There were tears in her eyes, but she didn't realise until she felt their startling wetness on her cheeks. She'd sank down to her knees beside him. The entire world seemed to have shrunk to just him. She tried to manipulate his cells into healing him, but there was little she could do, too little and too much damage. After only a few seconds she could already see that wouldn't work. Her vision was blurred by those tears, but still it seemed to her that she could see his face perfectly. He was still alive, but barely, and not even conscious. He was fading.

Re: School RP Thread
Without really knowing what she was doing, she began whispering to him, only to stop as she realised that her words were empty promises and lies. He wasn't going to be ok.... he was as badly hurt as he could tell he was, and she couldn't help him. She couldn't save him. Even now, fresh tears were spilling from her eyes as she admitted that to herself, and she knew she couldn't admit it to him. If he could stay ignorant for a few more seconds.... if she could just tell herself that he remained ignorant, anyway.

She was kneeling beside him, but she'd kept a small space between them both out of habit, careful not to let him touch her as she was careful with everyone. When she realised this, the idea hit her like a bolt of lightning. The realisation. She wasn't as helpless as she'd believed.... but the decision.....

Re: School RP Thread
Now, that very thought was gnawing its way right through her. She could save him..... there was a price, but she could save him. And in a way, it was right, it fit. Bitter and painful, but it fit. Gently, she moved and raised his head upwards, trying to ignore how she could feel her strength sapping away the second her skin touched him. She raised his head to hers. Slowly she dipped her face til their lips were meeting, a soft kiss, a first and only. There were still tears in her eyes, but now some were from joy in part - at least she'd been able to save him. At least that. Even if he'd lose her as she did so.

Re: School RP Thread
Perry had felt the energy surging into him immediately, but still, it was a while before he could stir. A while before he was aware of anything. His first thoughts were confusion, remembering only a flash of light, the fragment of an overheard fight, then pain. Then darkness. That was gone.... where had it gone to? He still could only see outlines though, and he could feel hands holding his head, a face above his.... lips on his. He jerked away, shocked, and Fia fell away. Instantly, panic filled him as he saw her, recognised her. He couldn't forget her limits, the reason she could never be touched. But he could already see her weakened state, her eyes closed.... he moved to pick her up, somehow try to help her, only to freeze. He couldn't touch her again... he'd make her even worse...

Instead, he moved away cautiously, just a fraction, and began shouting for help. Someone had to hear.... someone had to be capable of doing something, something to save her. He just couldn't even consider the other possibility. Someone had to be able to save her.
